Found: Season 2 Episode 8 – Missing While Haunted Review

Previous episode write-up here.

Today, the second half of Found – Season 2 debuts, and I’m trying to post this before the new episode airs. I did not rewatch in preparation for this post; I am writing from the scattered notes I made last year. I should have posted this review already (while everything was fresh), but I was somewhat underwhelmed by the episode, even though it ended with Gabi’s power walk into the lion’s den, delusional AF.

Okay, here we go! Let’s see if I can make sense of my notes and recall more…

Mosely & Associates

I noted the M&A team is weird and entitled. My goodness, was Zeke really not supposed to get in trouble for his hacking? He didn’t hack just anybody, either — it was the police department! He brought consequences down on himself. How dare M&A make me side with Trent?!

M&A also said a lot in front of the kid (from the case). I was wondering if there was a spy angle for a moment, they were so careless in front of her. Speaking of that kid, she was well-adjusted! Then again, dealing with a chaotic mom often encourages high EQ. Other times, it encourages a Hugh!

Pitiful Trent

“Trent has a lot of footsteps on him. Damn, M&A bodied him.” (I copied and pasted this – not sure what I was referring to at the time). I also wondered why Trent would believe/trust Gabi again so easily when they went to search the trailer together; it’s almost comical by now the way she still pulls wool over his eyes. The actor even had lingering looks at her that almost made me wistful about what could have been between the two. He was actually serving love, it seemed! Could it be the contents of the mysterious letter? Did it remind him Gabi is still very much the victim here? And I think this is the first episode without a reference to him locking her up. 🤔

While we’re at it, why does Trent think it’s a good idea to cancel/extinguish a person as useful as Gabi? He thinks he’s doing the right thing by sacrificing a Gabi on behalf of a Sir? He thinks it’s better to let many fall through the cracks without her? No one will miss Hugh. Many will suffer if Gabi goes, one way or another. This isn’t exactly a trolley problem; Gabi is harmless and helps. Hugh harms.

Frowsy Margaret

It took me a second to remember why I wrote ‘Frowsy Margaret;’ it was revealed she wasn’t bathing, etc., and Dhan — bless his soul — gently tried to get her to clean herself up. I do remember her arc over the episode, and while I appreciate the additional layers to Margaret’s story, I still resent her big time. I would feel more about her situation if she hadn’t been so vicious for so long. Also, that wig in the flashback sucked. And it looks like my theory about her son running away from her stank attitude wasn’t so bad!

I knew what was up immediately in the car scene when she got Lacey’s text. Shouldn’t M&A know the signs of pending suicide? Leaving belongings behind, etc. How is it only Gabi figured it out?

Creepy Ethan

As for Ethan, he generally seems like a guest star appropriate for The X-files. He has a creepy reptilian vibe, like that woman from the episode “Die Hand Die Verletzt.” He did nothing to dispel my suspicion this episode; in fact, my suspicion of him being up to no good grew even more.

“Can you help me not remember?” Margaret requested of him. Yeah…Ethan might have done some hypnosis/suggestive stuff beyond the request.

In any case, I am convinced he is not to be trusted. No one will miss him if he goes; he and Dhan have negative chemistry. My goodness, even that last scene of them on the beach with Margaret… do they even know each other? Lol.

Hugh Evans

Hilarious how Hugh scammed Bella’s mom into giving up sensitive information! Anyway, he made some progress on severing Gabi’s tethers. Sir vs. Zeke was a fun scene. I knew getting Zeke outside was Hugh’s plan; he plans to help all M&A members to free up Gabi, so here we go!

I don’t remember when the “He’s in the way; it’s time” scene was, but it seemed to focus on Zeke’s or Trent’s photo. I figured Zeke wasn’t really a threat, so he had to be talking about Trent, who is definitely in the way with his vendetta to put Gabi away. Trent either has to die or get a girlfriend; he seems to have a sick attachment to/ownership of Gabi is well. With a slight adjustment, in another timeline, Trent is Sir.

Gabrielle

I was surprised to see Gabi holding her tummy as she awaited an update on Trent’s condition. That much anxiety over Trent? Are they hinting at deeper feelings for him? At this stage? Why did they focus on her stomach?
Anyway, Gabi is definitely nuts for going into that old school where Hugh has the advantage of preparation. My goodness, Sir plays piano in the dark and there Gabrielle Mosely goes!

I really hope the show gets deeper into the psychology going on here.

Other Notes

Lacey finally showed some emotion over Gabi’s potential fate, Trent’s warning to Zeke seemed sincere, and I look forward to more mess this season!

I saw the casting of a blonde who is probably Hugh’s sister and/or an intended love interest for Trent. Hugh probably sent her to peel Trent away from Gabi.

And what is really up with Hugh’s brother?

So ready for the new episode! LFG.

And here are my thoughts on Season 2 Episode 9!
