Found: Season 2 Episode 14 – Missing While Matched

Thoughts on previous episode here. Watch Missing While Matched on Peacock!

Gabi Mosely the Martyr

I wish Gabi could show herself the compassion she shows others. Her heart’s too big for Margaret, and she gives her too much leeway. She is somewhat soft on Hugh. And delusional about Ethan. What the heck was that? Asking him to provide therapy and insight? That man hates her! It’s so ridiculous she would ask him for help, despite needing someone who knows the real story. This particular Found world aspect has stretched my limits and pushed my tolerance too far.

At least Ethan told her it’s a bad idea. Which it is. Horrible. Why couldn’t Christian be kept alive as a possibly ironic mental health assistant? He was a grief counsellor, no?

Hypocrite Margaret

As a surprise to no one, Margaret is a complete hypocrite. “I may be making a mistake, but it’s my mistake to make,” she said. And then she was basically like, I can keep secrets, but not you. And I can keep a MAJOR one from my ex-husband and other kids, even though it very much involves them. I can be as selfish as I want, Gabi! Don’t question my methods.

Margaret’s supposed kid is misbehaving big time, but she feels entitled AF to have him at work, compromising her coworkers’ security.

And she still comes across oddly regarding Gabi. I still don’t trust her.

Zeke & Lacey

I’m not really that invested in Zeke/Lacey as a couple, but I also don’t care enough to hate it.

I was amused when Zeke checked out that ass when Lacey was leaving with Dhan in the beginning. And his jacked torso at the end…LOL!

Lacey is such a gem though, and I wish the best for her.

Dashing Dhan

Dhan is still showing he is that guy — the only one invested in maintaining the integrity of M&A apparently. And I love how he is so not about telling other people’s business! Wish I had a Dhan in my life. The dude is loyal and trustworthy. Speaking of trustworthy…

Jamie Nicholas Reed

This guy is the opposite of trustworthy, yet he’s allowed to just lurk around an office with private, confidential files and information. I don’t understand this. M&A are slow for letting this unconfirmed stranger have such access. I just can’t believe how much they’re letting slide and how often they’re turning a blind eye to his deeds! Ridiculous. All of them have expressed skepticism he’s legit, and yet…

Between this and Gabi asking the guy who hates her to head-shrink her, I’m dropping in engagement level; way too much suspension of disbelief; it’s starting to feel too ridiculous. I was already turning a blind eye to a lot of nutty, unrealistic elements. Please ground more of this in the real world, writers!

I still like the ‘Jamie’ character (and his actor). Other viewers are tiring of him and the identity mystery from what I see on message boards. I’m fine with dragging out the identity confirmation, but M&A is too lax about the entire thing.

Anyway, I’m still Team He’s the Real Jamie for now. This episode made me lean further that way based on things he said and the way he answered to his middle name. And it’s realistic he would refer to Margaret by her first name, representing the distance between them.

Honestly, I’m not sure I even need a DNA to confirm his identity — his level of entitlement and ability to make himself the victim even when caught red-handed… that’s Margaret’s baby, lol. Although when someone said of him, “The kid has no sense of rules or boundaries,” that implies a sociopath. No one would be surprised.

The Case of the Week

The COW was pretty good, the perp hidden well in plain sight. Since the cases seem to be somewhat related to the characters at M&A, I’m interested to see how this one relates. Was someone trying to get back at Margaret or her husband by taking Jamie?

Detective Trifling Trent

I can’t stand Trent acting like what he did to Gabi is all water under the bridge after what he pulled. Eff him! He was kinda sexy this episode, though; I couldn’t help checking him out. Particularly at the station in those jeans. He’s kind of a tall drink of water, not gonna lie. And speaking about sexy…

Hugh Psycho Evans

Sigh. MPG is such a snack; I can’t hate Sir properly because of him.

And with Trent antagonizing him, he’s even more sympathetic. Honestly, seeing him post-beatdown lying in bed looking sad got to me.

You guys, why are you doing this to me? Can’t wait to see how the show gets me to hate him properly.

Other Notes – Notable Quotes

“Throwing your weight around has its consequences.” “Rarely are we suspicious of those we choose as friends.”

Though spoken in relation to the case of the week, these have to be related to Margaret’s case, right?

And I haven’t accepted Christian’s death yet. I won’t until the reveal of Heather killing him or so.
